CONGRATULATIONS KATY!
Let me start by saying what a trooper Katy was during this shoot. We hit up Downtown San Jose for these pictures and let me tell you, it was NOT warm out! I mean, sure, I had a nice comfy warm coat with a hood, but Katy had to brave the elements in her cap and gown. Wind, cold air, rain, puddles, etc.
It was such an honor for Katy to have asked me to capture some pictures during this very important time in her life. At some point during the afternoon I remembered that Katy is a gifted photographer as well and has shot people's engagement and wedding photos in the past. That's when my "Uh oh" moment hit me. Am I doing this right? Are these pictures going to be any good? So on and so on. I soon realized that it's actually a good thing because as a photographer, she knew what I was trying to achieve and could easily pose the way that would look best for the pictures. This was very nice for a portrait newbie like myself. Lol.
We found this neat house while driving around and I thought it would make for a neat shot. The only thing was, what if people were inside?! Well, having no fear, Katy knocked on the door and told the people that we wanted to use their front door for our pictures. Thank goodness they weren't crazy people! lol.
For those who don't know, I met Katy at San Jose State. We were fortunate enough to share some classes together where we had a professor that drove us out of our minds on a daily basis. "Can I get an Amen?" The picture on the right made me think of how we often felt in those classes! Speechless and ready to go crazy! Haha.
Again, congratulations Katy! You're done!
